Food for life

Abstract

Absolute poverty is the condition in which a person does not earn the minimum amount of income to cover their minimum requirements as a human being over an extended period of time.

These basic requirements include:

  • Food/ Groceries
  • Safe drinking water
  • Adequate health care

Life in absolute poverty is dangerous for an individual as they are without the essential living conditions that contribute to that person’s health, education, and ultimately, their survival. “Amar Bangladesh Foundation” aims to locate these people and works for the improvement for their standard of living and also trying to provide food and medicines considered necessary.

Purpose

Relative poverty occurs when a person does not get the income required to maintain the average standard of living for the society they live within. For example, it’s thought that 50 million people live in relative poverty in Bangladesh.

Relative poverty is used to help measure the level of poverty in each individual country. If people within their own country are unable to keep up with the average standard of living determined by their society, they are deemed impoverished. As it is relative, it changes over time, adjusting in relation to the country’s economy and standard of living.

“Amar Bangladesh Foundation” aims to provide substantial and meaningful assistance to people who face difficulties in their life. Individually, we may not be able to change the world to become the one we want to live in but we may be able to help people substantially on an individual or community level. As a result, our core value is making charitable giving a part of everyone’s life. Our mission is to be the ultimate charity platform of choice to connect contributors, volunteers, and beneficiaries with the end result being making charitable giving a part of everyone’s life. Our caring target includes underprivileged families, orphanages, person with disability, and others.

“Food for life” project is a food donation project that aims to feed the hungry, destitute, and poor people, so that we may help change these people’s lives for a better tomorrow.

Objective

• To provide food for 6 month  around 5 corers of people in this critical situation for the hungry, destitute, and poor with the hope that it may somehow ease their burden and help change their lives for a better tomorrow.

• To act as a platform for members of the public who are interested in food donation charity project to participate along as volunteers and donors.

• To create awareness on charitable activities and the challenges that the underprivileged groups faced. And also provide medical support to those who are unable to get proper treatment in order to bit this deadly virus (Covid 19).

Mission

Making a simple donation on a regular basis can help support the hard work of charities like “Food for life” in their mission to help those that are suffering in extreme poverty in this unavoidable situation. “Amar Bangladesh Foundation” makes an effort to supplies sufficient food to poor people because all human beings are entitled to lead healthy and fulfilled lives, which includes having sufficient food quantities and quality. From an ethical point of view, people should provide food to the poor since it is the morally upright thing to do.

The strategy of the project “Food for life” organized by the “Amar Bangladesh Foundation” is:--

1.      Donate as per capacity.

2.      Group Involvement/Volunteering Teams. ...

3.      Collection Drive.

4.      Donate Groceries

5.      Fund Raising.

6.      Personal Financial Help.

7.      Social Media.

8.      Moral Consolation.

9.      One of the better ways to help the poor and needy people is to give them a hand up rather than a hand out.

In addition, there are people who cannot even afford the basic requirements of living. They do not have shelter to live, food to eat, and clothes to wear. People who have extra are living a comfortable and a posh life. Alternatively, those who have barely the vitals are fighting each day for life. They fail to meet the basic requirements. There are people who have much more than they need to live while others have barely enough to survive.

Poor people do not have enough clothing, food, education and healthcare. Being poor means deprived economically, politically and socially. They hardly get opportunities. They have inadequate nutrition, higher risk of diseases and lack access to healthcare and basic essentials for living resulting in low achievement.

Conclusion

“Amar Bangladesh foundation” is intended to locate those people and willing to support more than 5 corers in whole Bangladesh from June to December by their “Food for life” project.

One cannot make such people opulent but can at least help them achieve the essentials of life and lead a prosperous life. Helping the poor and needy people is a good deed. Caring for the poor and needy people and helping them is a noble endeavor. The more you give to poor and needy people, the more you strengthen their dependency. If you give them the chance or opportunity, you’ll see an effective and long-lasting improvement in their lives. Create a new system built on inter-dependency which motivates them to work and move forward and their dignity are maintained. Tossing out money or other kinds of donation do help the poor and needy people but the need is to direct your energies and efforts in raising them, building relationship, teaching them and moreover, regaining their self-confidence and self-esteem to work for themselves.

Change your perspective. Instead of considering them as a project to help, view them as people to love and respect.
